Atticus as a father

I think that Atticus is a very good father for only being a single parent. He teaches Jem and Scout lots of lessons, and he is more of a laid back parent. Atticus doesn't like to listen to other people tell him how to raise his kids. He isn't like all of the other kids dad's either. He doesn't like to show off, thats why Jem and Scout didn't know about him being the best shooter in Maycomb county. Like the book says "Atticus was feeble: he was nearly fifty."
Atticus' parenting style is much different than other parents...like mine. When Jem had had taken Scout's new baton and ruined all of Mrs. Dubose's flowers, Atticus made Jem go read to her like she had asked. My parents would have yelled at me for hours upon end, and made me go apologize to her for my behavior, plus a bunch of other things. I guess that Atticus would be an ok dad, also I don't know if I could handle only having one parent in my life. Atticus isn't anything like my parents. He is way more lenient with things, and my parents have all of these rules and are uptight about some things.
